Resolving the "Cannot insert object" Error

Symptom

When running a forecast, you may get the following error:

"The following error has occurred: Cannot insert object."

Solution

This is related to an Office update that came out in early December of 2014. 

To resolve this error, go to the following locations and delete the files below, then try using the tool again. You may see one or both of these files:

• <local drive>:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Excel8.0\MSForms.exd 
• <local drive>:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\VBE\MSForms.exd 

 If you are running Office 2013 and the above changes didn't work you should also try applying the following patch for Office:
