Error 80040154

Symptom: When running ForecastX, a user gets this message:

The following error has occurred:

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {73C040C5-DC84-11E3-A186-BCA66E2A2E62} failed due to the following error: 80040154.

Under the current user, ForecastX also does not show up in the Add or Remove programs section of Windows. But if the administrator account used to install ForecastX is logged into the machine, then it shows in the programs section and runs correctly.

 

Solution:

 

The problem here is that ForecastX was installed and instead of using the option to install for All Users in the computer, the Only me option was used. The application needs to be reinstalled with the All Users option.
